The mount is gilt metal not gold. Therer is a hinge on the back, possible for a pendant mount but the hinge pin is now missing, with no bale. No visible damage to the shell although there are visible internal flaws to the left of the panel at about 10 o'clock in the form of three hairlines and with a loupe it appears that at least one may have just reached the surface.
