cf. Dennis G. Rice, Cats in English Porcelain of the 19th century, colour plates 22a and 22b.
The cat on the lefthand side of the photograph has restoration to both its ears and the top and back of its head and a shallow splinter chip to the edge of the base on the right hand side with an associated hairline crack running each side of it. Slight wear to the gilding also. The cat in the middle of the photograph has restoration to its left ear, a small chip to the top of its right ear, otherwise in reasonable condition. The cat on the righthand of the image appears to be in good condition with no restoration, chips or cracks and is also inscribed with the red Derby mark. All of the cats have some fine crazing to the glaze.
