A French brass Butterfield pattern sundial, with elongated octagonal plate divided into three hour scales, signed Butterfield à Paris, 43, with sprung hinged bird adjustable gnomen, 2.5in., in original leather case

The dial and compass have minor tarnish and are in good condition, The case has a repair to the section of the cover to which the hinged is fixed. The cover is slightly misshapen to the base of the case otherwise in reasonable condition.
