An 18th century French silver gilt oval teapot by Henri-Auguste, Paris, 1786, with beaded borders, leaf capped handle and ivory knop (with original Sotheby's purchase receipt), gross 24.5 oz.

Splits to the ivory knop. There is visible wear to the gilding on the handle (almost now completetly gone). Engraved crest to the side of the pot. There is also one quite large dent and a smaller dent by the crest. Numerous minor surface scratches in general to the body, lid and base. General condition is otherwise good. Clear marks on lid and base.
