A small late 16th century carved oak six plank coffer, with triple roundel carved front, W. 2ft 6.5in. D.11in. H.1ft 5in.

Top is offset to the left, is slightly lighter in colour due to fading and has two old splits running approximately 10 inches from the left hand side and one similar split running in from the right hand side, dents, scratches and other wear commensurate with age, signs of worming visible from the underside, looking at the underside one can also see where a strap repair may have been used for the two splits on the left, there is also a stained mark where a latch was once fitted to the left of the current lock, hinges are wrought iron, one has split and had a screw added in the past, main body of richer dark colour again with numerous dents scratches and scuffs commensurate with age, back panel has diagonal lines carved into perhaps suggesting that the timber was re-used from something else, lock is missing, stile feet may well have once been a little taller.
