A Japanese ivory netsuke of Fukurokuju and a boy, 19th century, signed Minkoku, the boy at the top of a ladder and resting his hands upon the immortal's head, signed to a tablet which may be later inset, 6cm high

Provenance: purchased from D W Howells, Walsall Wood for £235 in December 1979.
The netsuke has slight wear and engrained dirt to the low relief areas consistent with age and use, the bottom left leg of the ladder and the lower rung have been broken and reglued, otherwise in reasonable condition, it is possible that the ivory signature plaque has been later inset by equally it could be original.
