A Chinese red lacquer box and cover

The lacquer is generally grubby all over, the cover is missing a large section of the ivory plaque to the top, there are splits to all four corners of the cover, there is also some splinter losses on the inside of the corners of the covers, two running the full length of the corner and the base has some minor flaking around the lower edge, the gilt metal plaque underneath has some corrosion around the edges, wear to the base consistent with age.
The base of the box has small damage to the corners where the lid fits on the black lacquer.
The cover has a large part missing on the side of the lid of its interior. The ivory cartouche in the centre of the top of the lid is missing most of the body of the dragon carving.
