Provenance: by family repute formerly in the Arthur Flynn collection, purchased from Bluett's before 1980.
Larger dish has numerous small patches of white areas to the blueish glaze, a small shallow rim chip to the edge, a glaze crack nearby, a few tiny nibbles around the edge and around the foot, numerous scratches to the glaze otherwise in good condition, the smaller dish has six hairline cracks extending from the rim to the well and there is a small section of the rim which has been broken into two pieces and reglued, there is fine scratching to the well of the dish and the base, otherwise in reasonable condition.
