Note: Eleanor Winter was first taught to paint by Edward George Hobley in Penrith and went on to become a pupil of Sir William Orpen and Augustus John at the Chelsea Art School, c. 1906/1907. She exhibited her work at the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours, Piccadilly and in other places and eventually married a curate from Penrith. There is no surviving record of her artistic career.
