An Henri Jacot gorge-variant ormolu cased hour repeating carriage clock, movement striking on a bell, dial and movement signed E&E. Emanuel, Portsea, 4.75in. with leather travelling case.

Wear to the gilding of the case on the usual extremities, all glass good, a few dirt specks on the dial and a diagonal crack running across the top left corner and the bottom right corner, hands look original, movement is going and repeat function working although out of sync, top plate to movement possibly a later replacement, see our photographs, movement stamped HJ at 12 o'clock just below the escapement om back plate, signed H & E below the adjustment pin, engraved H & E Emanuel by appointment to the Queen at the bottom of the backplate, backplate is stamped with the number 798 in the lower left corner, case has the same number underneath the foot and on the footrim, back of the door has the number 26 inscribed upon it, no other numbers noted, comes with may well be the original winding key which has a broad solid oval in the middle and the original travelling case which is rather tired and has lost a section from the lid, the handle is engraved Capt. H Bathurst.
