A Chinese white jade 'parrot' disc, 19th century, the parrot amid prunus with a bamboo border, the stone of good even tone, 5.2cm, wood stand

From the collection of a Hong Kong Tea Merchant who worked for Jardine Matheson & Co Ltd, before 1940.

There is an internal crack to the stone on the bamboo border at the 7 o'clock position when the parrots head is turned to the left, there are some slight cloudy inclusions to the stone on the tendrils and leaves and the border beneath the parrot, otherwise in good condition.
