Lot 147 , A Victorian carved white marble figure of a Roman fisherboy, height 42in.
A Victorian carved white marble figure of a Roman fisherboy, standing wearing a laurel wreath, holding a net, rod and basket of fish, on integral oval base, height 42in.
Estimate £1,000-1,500
Overall with a slightly weathered effect - probably stood outside for some years. Now rather dirty.
Small losses to the tip of the laurel wreath and to one side of the wreath.
Top of the rod is missing from above his hand.
Some chipping around the base and the overhanging toes look restored.
Basically some small faults with the rod being the most notable. Should clean to good effect.
