Two Chelsea ecuelles and covers, c.1755, the first painted with insects and with a strawberry finial, bearing a Klaber & Klaber label, the second painted with floral sprays with pink rose finial, both with red anchor marks, diam. 17cm and 17.5cm, restorations and damage

Ecuelle and cover painted with flowers only has a large area of discoloured restoration to the rim, probably with some rebuilding and there is fine crazing to the glaze all over, the cost is not a brilliant fit and there is heavy staining around the edge with two hairline cracks, there is a loss to the stem of the rose finial.
Other with butterflies has been completely resprayed and restored on the interior which is now discoloured yellow, partially on the rim also and on the exterior the restoration covers half the circumference again with yellow discolouration, the cover has some slight staining to the underside of the edge, a few occasional scratches, a tiny loss to the end of the stalk of the strawberry finial.
