Thos. Chapman of Bath. A George III marquetry inlaid mahogany eight day longcase clock, the 12 inch arched brass dial with subsidiary seconds and date aperture, 7ft 3in.

Overall rather dark mahogany tone, with light golden colour to the marquetry, gilt gesso and wood finials worn and flaking to varying amounts, top right swans neck pediment is loose, short splits running horizontally through the pediment and around the arch of the door to the dial, dial looks to be in good clean condition, probably restored within the past 10 years or so, trunk in good order with a key for the door, box base showing cracking running vertically up the left side, the front panel slightly pulling away, a vertical crack through the front marquetry. The bracket foot base is a later addition. Comes with two cast iron weights and a winding key.
