A Chinese blue and white 'Bajixiang' shallow ogee-shaped bowl, Daoguang mark and period, finely drawn with the eight Buddhist emblems and a medallion to the interior and flowers and foliage to the exterior, diameter 20.5cm, faults

This bowl was intended to have doucai decoration but was probably rejected due to the firing cracks to the interior and as such should have been destroyed at the kilns. This design is more commonly seen during the Qianlong period.

There are a few firing cracks to the interior well of the bowl, there are a few rim nicks around the edge and four stained hairline cracks to the edge, scratching to the interior consistent with age and some slight abrasion around the foot, no restoration present.
