A 19th century double bass, 6ft, repairs to back

A 19th century double bass, 6ft, repairs to back
Estimate £400-600

Not in great condition, from the back there is 8 large splits to the back, and there is a repair in the form of a T shape two slats of wood which have been screwed to hold the two pieces together, where the splits are there is evidence of some filler which has been used to paper up the crack, the actual back piece has come away from the side from about half way right the way down to the bottom, the hump at the top of the base section or the bottom of the neck has a large split running right across from one side to the other, again evidence of some repair around this area also, there is an old repair in the form of filler to the top right shoulder, there is some wear to the lacquer, generally to both sides of the double bass, the bridge for the strings looks as though it is a replacement, to sum the condition is really quite poor.
