Two Chinese Yixing pottery miniature teapots and covers, late 19th/early 20th century, the first of compressed globular form, impressed seven character mark, height 6cm, the second of tapering rectangular form, incised with a landscape and a calligraphic inscription, impressed four character seal mark to base, height 4.8cm

Provenance: William Moule and his family, who were Christian missionaries in Ningpo (Ningbo) and Shanghai in the late 19th and early 20th century; thence by descent.

The globular teapot has a small shallow chip to the inner sleeve of the cover and the tapering rectangular teapot and cover has two minute nicks to the inner rim of the teapot, otherwise both in good condition with no restoration or cracks.
