A late Victorian silver oval cake basket, embossed with foliate scroll decoration, on four scroll feet, Henry Wigfull, Sheffield, 1898, 10.5in, 17.5 oz.

The rim has at least 10 splits to the silver in different places, most quite small, one more severe. There is a repair under neath one of the handles where it joins the body. Hallmarks on base and handle clear, although some very slight rubbing to the maker's mark.
