John Fell of London. A George III mahogany repeating musical bracket clock, the arched brass dial with silvered strike silent chapter ring and date aperture, twin fusee movement with anchor escapement striking on a gong and chiming on six bells, with engraved signed backplate, 18in.

Case of good rich colour, some blooming in the varnish down the left handside of the front door, fair oxidisation and lacquering on brass loop handle, dial looks original and untouched, oxidisation to the silvering, lock to front door looks original as is the key, one small patched hole on the lower right hand side of the door level with the hinge probably due to a repair, movement in good clean condition clarion is later, as it the gong at the back, please see additional photographs to see other changes that have been made, note the vacant holes towards the top right corner of the movement, an old paper label inside inscribed with the following details: Cleaned November 4th 1762, cleaned 1870 29 Dean Street London, converted from gut to chain drive 1899 and cleaned and rebushed May 1976.
Back door has a number of reinforcement plates applied to the inside and probably later brass top panels, comes with a working key to the lock, movement and repeat going but not tested for timekeeping.
