William Parkinson of Lancaster. A George III mahogany banded oak eight day longcase clock, the 12 inch square brass dial with date aperture, 6ft 5in.
Estimate £250-300
William Parkinson of Lancaster, recorded c.1770-d.1799.
Overall a good dark reddish colour with good state of patination and polish. Slight hint of lifting venner to the top right of the hood.
A little rubbing to the top of the trunk.
Splits to the box base and no plinth.
Dial looks like it has been heavily polished some years ago. Movement looks in good order.
Overall a fair example.
