Oil on canvas relined approx. 20 - 30 years ago, canvas remains tight, though paint does look a little flattened, rather dirty with some fine but stable scattered craquelure and numerous small dirt specks. Apparently unsigned, but with inscribed attribution verso and title on the frame, frame is probably a later ebonised oak version looking to date from the 1920's.
This picture comes for sale from the Estate of the Late Michael Norman, a renowned collector of Shoreham and Sussex related material and this Estate is the source of many of the Shoreham, Adur and Sussex related lots in this sale.
