The button is made of bone but the face of the figure is carved ivory, there is a drilled hole to the canted corner on the reverse of the base and across from this a further hole drilled through the signature with a bone insulator.
There is a later lead and bronze panel fixed to the base with 4 screws, slight wear to the patination.
