Lot 823 , One bottle of Chateau Petrus 1982, Pomerol;

One bottle of Chateau Petrus 1982, Pomerol;

One bottle of Chateau Petrus 1982, Pomerol; into neck, light scuffs to label, minor nick to bottom of capsule, Eurocave stored. The most expensive wine of Bordeaux, and here in one of its greatest vintages. It is remarkable to think, however, that Petrus is essentially a post-war success; in the capable hands of the Moueix family, Pomerol in general and Petrus in particular became, respectively, the most sought-after appellation and wine in the world. Moreover in a then conservative trade obsessed with hierarchy, all was achieved without the need for a class system.
