Lot 604 , A 19th century primitive armchair

A 19th century primitive armchair

A 19th century primitive armchair, with pine arms and back, and shaped slab seat, on baluster turned uprights, with original traces of paintwork simulating rosewood
Estimate £200-300

A slightly odd back where it appears that there may be a section of the crest rail missing but there is no real evidence of anything ever being there and there are traces of paint along the top so it is probably just how the piece has been made, arms are slightly loose particularly the left hand arm, some minor evidence of worm along some of the baluster turnings, other signs of old worm damage particularly when looking at the back panel from the back, other general signs of use and wear particularly along the arms, seat and legs.
