Slight undulation of the paper showing so thought not to be laid down, the paper runs from a creamy white colour in the mast through to a fairly dark buff tone particularly around the edges of the margin of the mount where there does appear to be some acid staining but also running down from the top corners into the work. No signs of any physical damage, a few tiny dirt specks, no sign of any foxing, signed in the plate, initialled in pencil lower right and inscribed 'trial' lower left. A plain card mount comes within a 0.25 inch of the image of the plate mark, slim gilt frame, inscribed title has been retained verso.
