Lot 187 , A pair of late 19th century hexagonal hall lanterns, 32 x 17.5in.
A pair of 19th century style hexagonal hall lanterns, with glazed arched shape panels, 32 x 17.5in.
Estimate £800-1,200
We think the metal is a patinated brass or similar brass type alloy, one lantern has one damaged hinge on the door, the other lantern has replacement hinges and a different circular handle lock, probably not the best casting but quite decortive pieces, both lanterns have some wear to the metal areas in places, generally average condition.
These are probably not late 19th century as catalogued, easily be mid-late 20th century. They are very decoartive and quite an impressive size.
