A Victorian brass mounted coromandel wood toilet box with leather carrying case and fitted interior with nine silver mounted cut glass jars and boxes and seven nail/shaving implements, with engraved armorial and scroll decoration, Frances Douglas, London, 1848, case 11.75in.

The box has numerous splits to the veneer on the lid. There is a brass plaque with engraved monogram inset inti the lid.
The lid has a drop flap revealing the seven implements (four items missing.) The velvet on the flap is worn and split in several places. The flap has lost whatever was holding it in place as a now broken rubber band had been used to hold it in place, so it is now loose and the impliments keep falling out. There are a few knocks to the wooden rim close to the hinges. Both stoppers belonging to the scent bottles are badly chipped and one screw top does'nt grip the glass helix because it is bent/damaged. Both lids are unmarked. There are a few nibbles to both bottles also. The shaving brush holder is missing one cap and the other is damaged/split. The other pieces are in generally good order with only a few minor nibbles to the glass here and there. Marks clear. The leather outer case is quite worn with numerous scuff marks.
