Oil on original canvas which remains tight, paint rather dirty and starting to dry out and flake most notably across the top along the line of the stretcher where a fair amount has come away and also to the lower right of the bird where further grey colouring has been lost, a little raised craquelure to the left of the hills which may result in paint loss if not attended to. Signed lower right, in probably the original gilt gesso frame which is in fair order, label verso for J J Patrickson of the Fulham Road, title inscribed in pencil on the back of the stretcher, overall should restore to very good effect.
