A 19th century Capo di Monte style gilt porcelain hinged box and another similar box, the first decorated in relief with a scene of a classical maiden and attendants to the cover and scenes of revelling cherubs to the body, underglaze mark to base, the other hinged box similarly relief decorated with scenes of putti and inside decorated with painted sprigs of flowers, 13.5cm and 11.5cm
Estimate £100-150
The top of the Capodimonte box has small patches where the glaze has not taken so well, traces of paint on one of the cherub's faces (which appears to flake off), and could do with a clean. There are occasional minor scratches to the surface of the glaze and typical age related wear to the base, but overall, good condition. The other box has very occasional minor scratching to the surface but is otherwise in good condition.
Descriptions provided in both printed and on-line catalogue formats do not include condition reports.
