Lot 549 , An early 20th century ormolu mounted oak bracket clock, 22.5in.

An early 20th century ormolu mounted oak bracket clock, 22.5in.

An early 20th century ormolu mounted oak bracket clock, of architectural form with arched brass dial and W & H movement chiming on two gongs, 22.5in.
Estimate £300-500

Oak case work of a rich medium colour with one or two tiny dents and dirt specks but overall good order, ormolu work now a little oxidised with some rubbing from polishing, figure of Mercury at the top is loose and leans at an angle, a little light oxidisation to the dial which remains original, hands slightly oxidised but also look original, knob from front door missing, movement equally looks complete but never to have been touched, going but not tested for timekeeping, comes with a pendulum and associated key. Overall a good quality clock in need of some cosmetic attention.
