A 19th century Russian 84 zolotnik silver and niello rectangular snuff box, the lid decorated with a scene of Palace Square, St Petersburg, marks scratched, 3in.

There is some wear to the niello decoration in general all over the box. The engaving to th efront, back and base of the box is very tired. The rear back right corner has a small ding. The surface of the interior of the lid and base is heavily scratched, including the marks. There are engraved initials within a cartouche on the base.
