Oil on canvas with an old reline done many years ago, canvas tight, paint loooks dirty with some retouching around edges of canvas. Fine but stable craqleur running through paint and the painted ground. Housed in an old, plain gilt frame. Restorers label for W Freeman & Son Ltd, of Albermore St, London. Old ink inscription with details of the sitter and attribution to Lawrence. Christie's stencil no. G640MV
