Estimate £200-400

The inscription may indicate this is a copy of a work by Francesco Bordoni (1580-1654). The Roman marble figure of the Dying Gaul, on which this figure is based, was rediscovered in the 1620s in Rome.

Good dark chocolate brown patination a little matted in places, fine example of the casting, some dirt speckling but essentially in good order, baize to base has come loose and needs replacing.
